Washed Process Described: The washed coffee process involves several steps: First, the outer skin of the coffee cherry is removed using a depulper, leaving the beans covered in mucilage. The beans then undergo fermentation in water tanks, where the mucilage is broken down. After fermentation, the beans are thoroughly washed to remove any remaining mucilage. They are then dried to a specific moisture content, hulled to remove the parchment layer, and finally sorted and packaged after defective beans are removed.
